-LOBBYING YOUR LEGISLATORS TO CO-SPONSOR THE LGBT RIGHTS BILL (SB 2O12/HB 397)
Hundreds of LGBT activists and our allies will meet in Tallahassee during the week of March 16 to rally for LGBT equality and lobby our legislators to support LGBT initiatives.PBCHRC is working with Equality Florida, the ACLU of Florida, Organizations United Together, SAVE Dade, the Human Rights Council of North Central Florida, the Anti-Defamation League, Florida NOW and many other allied organizations to move the the LGBT civil rights bill and other legislation forward. Updated talking points on the civil rights legislation are attached. Feel free to use the information to help educate your legislators on why they need to support this important legislation. The list of co-sponsors for SB 2101 and HB 397 is also attached. If your state senator and state representative are not yet on the list, please encourage them to sign on as co-sponsors and to support this important legislation. Have a great time in Tallahassee and remember, by working together, we can make a difference!
