Ft. Lauderdale: ArtsUnited Presents United & Proud Art Exhibit
ArtsUnited presents is annual member art exhibit, United & Proud, from June 1-18 at the downtown Main Library, in celebration of Gay Pride Month. An artists reception will be held on Wednesday, June 3, to meet the artists. Over 50 member artists will exhibit their work in both 2D and 3D form and prizes are awarded for Best of Show, Best of Class, and People's Choice. The exhibit is on display from June 1 to June 18 at Gallery Six at the Broward Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Ave. Fort Lauderdale, FL. The exhibit will be on display in conjunction with Stonewall Library & Archives' historical exhibition, Stonewall: The End of the Beginning, celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Stonewall riots which is widely viewed to have sparke the Gay rights Movement. A reception will be held to view both exhibits, and meet the artists on Wednesday, June 3 from 5:30-7:30pm. Both exhibits and the reception is free and open to the public. The reception will include light fare and cash bar.

165 mile bike ride to raise money for six Florida HIV/AIDS agencies
Fort Lauderdale – On January 8, 2010, over 500 participants will depart Miami for a two day, 165 mile ride to Key West in order to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS and six agencies throughout the state of Florida. The Smart Ride, now in it’s sixth year and one of the largest HIV/AIDS rides in the country, was born out of a dream to make a real and significant difference in the lives of those infected, affected and at risk for HIV/AIDS. 100% of the funds raised from the ride go to six HIV/AIDS Charities throughout the state of Florida Registration for riders and crew members is now open at

The Stonewall Street Festival and Parade will soon be upon us. This year's event will take place on June 20 & 21 with an expected attendance of over 30,000. The organizing committee depends on volunteers to ensure the success of this event. There is no better way to celebrate the meaning of the Stonewall Rebellion than to be part of the festival itself. First Annual Lesbian Play Reading Festival
The Women's Theatre Project will be presenting GIRL PLAY, the First Annual Lesbian Play Reading Festival on Saturday, June 27th at 8 PM and Sunday, June 28th at 2 PM in association with the GLCC at their new building, 2040 N. Dixie Hwy, in Wilton Manors. Scripts were submitted for consideration from all over the USA, as well as Australia. The two performances are completely different programs featuring readings of the thirteen selected short scripts with a focus on lesbian themes.
