I ask because voters are being asked to approve an amendment to our stateConstitution that would forever deny her the right to a legal union of anykind. Why? Certainly not because it harms anyone else. I have racked mybrain and can come up with no ideas about how it would affect anyone else'slife.

FORT LAUDERDALE: Service to honor shooting victim, 17
A memorial service will be held Thursday for Simmie Williams Jr. on the samecorner of the Sistrunk neighborhood where the 17-year-old was gunned downlast week. The event is to take place at 4:30 p.m. on the 1000 block ofSistrunk Boulevard. A town hall meeting focusing on hate crimes in Floridais scheduled for after the service at 6:30 p.m. at the Gay & LesbianCommunity Center of South Florida at 1717 N. Andrews Ave. Equality Floridaand the Transgender Equality Rights Initiatives (TERI), two statewideadvocacy groups, are sponsoring the event. Police say Williams was attackedFriday by two young men who might live in the neighborhood. Williams waswearing women's clothing when he was shot, authorities say.
