All our "education" doesn't seem to eliminate bias
When I vote, I could care less if one is gay or straight, black or white, orwhatever. However, when County Commissioner Ken Keechl states 99.9 percentof his decisions have nothing to do with his gay perspective (and I believehim), why is it the first thing written after his name is his sexualorientation? Or, in fact, after any politician who is openly gay? Then in the same article, "Gay candidates focus on wider agenda," former Fort Lauderdale City Commissioner Dean Trantalis says he doesn't think theanti-gay sentiment is gone, that there "is homophobia" in Fort Lauderdale.
Gee, what a revelation. We can educate, educate, educate, but there will
always be anti-gay,anti-black, anti-Semitism, etc. Not as much as there once was, but it stillexists. We should vote people in on their merits only - but some in oursociety never will.

Upholding a decision by thestate's Unemployment Compensation Board of Review, the court seemed todeliberately obfuscate the facts of the case in order to avoid reachingconstitutional claims that Procito raised in her appeal, at least accordingto the criticisms that dissenting Judge Rochelle S. Housing is one of our most basic needs. Yet, the Health Resources andServices Administration (HRSA) wants to limit this human right for manypeople living with AIDS. HRSA has proposed an amendment that would create a24-month lifetime cap onRyan White emergency and transitional housing benefits. For many peopleliving with AIDS, Ryan White CARE Act transitional housing dollars are theonly thing preventing them from being homeless. Not onlydoes the amendment threaten to put people out on the street, it fails toaccount for people who are intermittently homeless and may periodically needthe benefit. And as we all know, our country is in a severe housing crisis -meaning that displaced PWAs would have an even harder time finding a placeto stay if these cuts are allowed to stand. Please call your senators andrepresentative today to demand the withdrawal of this harmful amendment:

Can you imagine the reaction from the media and critics if Barack Obama hadsimilarly misstated and misunderstood the difference between Sunni and Shiain Iraq, and confused which side Al Qaeda was on? He would have beenridiculed and labeled unfit to be commander in chief. There may well havebeen calls for him to leave the race because of his ignorance of foreignaffairs. Yet this is exactly the error that on at least four occasions Sen.John McCain made on his trip to the Middle East. After repeating his errorfor the third time, McCain was saved by a tap on the shoulder by ConnecticutSen. Joe Lieberman, who whispered that he had the wrong players on the wrongsides. Orthodox church has much apology to make in Western World: protocommunist massacres by Palamite Zealotes under Hesychast hyperventilatory halucinations, Cantacuzene taxation driving farmers to embrace Turks, Komyakoviac Obshchina giving birth to soviet communism as reactionary casuistry opposing Napoleon's defeudalization, Cosmus Aitalius being patron originator of of modern genocide as seen by the massacre of Turks in Crete by Venizelos. And their hypnotic brainwashing incantations are designed to make theirf locks into terrorists. Is all masochistic because reject Original Sin.
