That was 18 months ago. When he was 15. When Willie was still Willie.

Obama has been talking about LGBT Americans in his speeches at criticalmoments in his career---from introducing himself to America at the DNCConvention, to announcing his presidential candidacy, to campaigning inIowa, to his historic speech on Martin Luther King Day, and more recentlywhile campaigning in Beaumont, TX and Nelsonville, OH. He stands up for ourcommunity---making clear that he will not tolerate homophobia or attacks onour community and that he will fight for our rights--in speeches beforemainstream audiences all across the nation; not just in front of gayaudiences; not just when he knows he will get a round of applause, but whenit is sometimes awkward or uncomfortable. That is leadership; that is whywe need to Barack Obama as our next President.
