GARY RESNICK IS PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE NEW ENDORSEMENTS FOR MAYOR OF WILTON MANORS
Gary Resnick is very honored to have received endorsements of key GLBT political leaders. Resnick is running for Mayor in the November 4, 2008, Wilton Manors election. Chief among his endorsements in the Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender community are Broward County Commissioner Ken Keechl, whose district includes Wilton Manors, Dean Trantalis, former City Commissioner of Fort Lauderdale and President of the Dolphin Democrats, and Michael A. Albetta, former President of the Dolphin Democrats and current President of the Florida GLBT Democratic Caucus. In addition to these leaders in the GLBT community, Gary is very honored to receive the endorsements of State Senators Chris Smith and Nan Rich, State Representatives Perry Thurston, Martin Kiar, and Jim Waldman, as well as virtually all Mayors within Broward County including: Mayor Rae Carole Armstrong of Plantation, Mayor Lori Mosely of Miramar, Mayor Jack Brady of North Lauderdale, Mayor Beth Talabisco of Tamarac, Mayor Debby Eisenger of Cooper City, Mayor Michael Udine of Parkland, and Mayor Joy Cooper of Hallandale Beach.

It's a novel way to express your rights. Some public libraries in Broward County are participating in a national Banned Books Week They will supply the titles of books banned or challenged. "We believe you should be able to read whatever you want to read," said Michele Andrews, Parkland Library's program coordinator. The Florida Supreme Court on Monday issued a reprimand against Broward Circuit Judge Cheryl Aleman for acting in an ''arrogant'' and unprofessional manner against defense counsel during the 2006 jury selection for accused Hollywood killer Lawrence Braynen. Aleman, who was appointed by former Gov. Jeb Bush, will have to pay the cost of the investigation by the Judicial Qualifications Commission, the state's governing body that investigates complaints against judges.
